The Sony KDL 32P3020 Review

So you want to upgrade your television but don't want to spend a fortune doing it? The Sony KDL-32P3020 lcd tv maybe the right one for you. This new 32 inch model from Sony has hit the shelves running so we thought we'd give you a full review before you go spending your hard earned cash.

This 32 inch set is a HD ready LCD television. It has an Integrated Digital Tuner and Freeview which why when after you finish the THX set-up and doing the expected picture setting tweaking the picture quality is great. As for the digital quality of the Sony's tuners, the colours come in natural and well balanced, mostly digital noise free. This due to the combining the Bravia Engine and the WCG-CCFL backlight technology that involves a different type of luminescence producing a more accurate reds and greens, achieves about 95% of the National Television System Committee's video signal requirements. Producing a 140% improvement on lcd tvs that features traditional fluorescent backlights.

So when switching from HD content to a Blu-ray disc the picture has very realistic skin tones with accurate black levels producing a picture that had extremely sharp detail and sound. This particular Sony displays such a well-rounded picture that it looks almost three-dimensional. So much so that movies on DVD look just as good as a Blu-Ray. The scenes in the movies come across smoothly with little jitter even in fast moving wide panning shots. As LCD televisions go, it is relatively lightweight at 15kg with the dimensions of 58x79x21. The resolution is 1366 x 768, contrast ratio is 1800:1 and the brightness is 450cd/m2.

It boosts these other features BRAVIA Image Processing Engine with BRAVIA Theatre Sync (Sony's name for the CEC-Consumer Electronic Control). That is that it is a control standard over these sockets, 2 HDMI inputs instead of three (unlike the Sony 32S3000), 2 SCART with component video, a composite video, and a PC input. Giving you the one touch control over devices that are compatible with the television like a DVD player means that if you turn on the DVD player your Sony KDL 32P3020 lcd tv will turn on as well.

It is capable of being hung on the wall as well as being on a stand the only problem being is that it cannot be turned on it's original base. So what else comes with it? Things that are included with the set:
