The thin screen of the LCD television makes it easy to mount on the wall. Originally, lcd tvs were thought to be limited to small sizes. But today, they are catching up fast to big screens. As big as 108 inches are available in LCD television. This makes them competitive with the plasma in the market for flat screens.

Plasma televisions are ranked almost in the same place as the LCD TVs. They look similar in the sense that they are thin, and the screens are flat. But the utilize a different technology. Plasma uses xenon and neon gases in order to produce an image on the screen. The blacks in plasma are incredible unlike the LCD TVs which usually looks grayish rather than black. Plasma, however, are quite expensive and are available only in large sizes. They can also be mounted but they are much more delicate to handle compared to LCDs.
